The Irish Bridge Union's major and intermediate inter-provincial championships will be decided over three sessions in the Shamrock Lodge Hotel, Athlone, on November 18th-19th. Leinster will be defending the senior event, and Connacht the secondary one.
The phlegmatic Cork veteran, Denis Dillon, brought off a notable treble by coming out on top in all the main events at the Kenmare congress in the Kenmare Bay Hotel.

The schedule for the Dublin South Region's pairs championships, all of which will be held in the Templeogue Centre, is: major (Quin Cup), over two sessions on November 26th (1.30 p.m.); intermediate A (Joe Moran Cup), November 24th and 26th (7.30 p.m.); intermediate B (Duffy Cup), November 26th (7.30 p.m.).
