RIO DE JANEIRO At least 29 people, including many children, have been killed in Brazil by recent mud slides and as many as two dozen more bodies could still be buried, state officials said yesterday.
As rains whipped the coast, 18 bodies were found in Rio De Janeiro and at least a further 20 people are believed dead said Elonides de Almeida Pesson de Melo, coordinator for the city's emergency services division. "In one landslide which devastated six shacks, we've so far found three bodies but we expect to find 20 more," de Melo said.
