Dublin City Neighbourhoods: Winner: Boyne Street Residents Group: Following a major Dublin City Council refurbishment programme in their flats complex, the residents of the southeast inner-city community of Boyne Street, Cumberland Street and Sandwith Street got together to ensure that the upkeep of their homes was maintained, and improved even further.
Now in its third year, their group ensures that the cleanliness of the area is maintained and that flowers and shrubs are planted.
The community group was presented with a city neighbourhoods award by Dublin City Council last September and went on to qualify for the National City Neighbourhoods Competition run by the Department of the Environment.
