A 16-year-old boy has died after being struck by a train in south Belfast on Wednesday

A 16-year-old boy has died after being struck by a train in south Belfast on Wednesday. Conor McLoughlin, from Finaghy, was hit just before 10.30 p.m.

Meanwhile, police have named a man whose body was recovered from the Lagan river in Belfast on Wednesday.

The body of Mr Gerard McCartney (28), from Mountpottinger Road, in Belfast, was found at around noon. An RUC spokesman said no crime was suspected.
