Boy injured after fall from Sligo school bus

A fall from a school bus in Co Sligo in which a seven-year-old boy sustained serious injuries is being investigated.

A fall from a school bus in Co Sligo in which a seven-year-old boy sustained serious injuries is being investigated.

The incident happened close to Ballinafad when the vehicle's rear emergency door opened, resulting in boy falling out.

The boy is being treated at Sligo General Hospital. The bus was taking children to Corrigeenroe National School.

A spokeswoman for Bus Éireann said the vehicles emergency doors were examined and found to be in good working order. She said the vehicle had also recently passed a full PSV test.
