An 11-year-old boy who died after falling into a slurry pit on a neighbours farm has been named as Francis from Aughnacliffe, near Moyne, Co Longford. He was missing from his home since yesterday.

Gardaí said: "He was last seen at about 3pm heading out to his neighbour's farm yard. "His body was found at 1am. It appears he slipped and fell into the slurry tank."

His body was taken to Longford Hospital where a post-mortem examination was held today.
