A 17-year-old teenager has been charged with the manslaughter of a man whose body was found in bushes in west Dublin last weekend.

The boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, appeared at Dublin Children's Court this morning charged with the killing of a man (21) at Quarryvale on September 23rd.

The body of the man (21), who is originally from London, was found in a bushy area near the Liffey Valley shopping complex off the M50.

The court heard the accused was arrested at his home in Tallaght and brought to Ronanstown Garda Station where he was charged this morning. He made no reply to the charge.

An application for bail was rejected, and the youth was remanded in custody to St Patrick's Institution to appear again next week. Legal aid was granted.
