A 13-year-old boy died in a two-car crash in Derry early today.

A 13-year-old boy died in a two-car crash in Derry early today.

The boy was a passenger in one of the cars which collided on the Ballykelly Road in Limavady at 3am.

The Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) said a number of other motorists had witnessed the collision.

"One passing motorist stopped to offer help," said a spokeswoman. She appealed for other motorists with information to contact police.

The Ballykelly Road was closed off for a number of hours in the aftermath of the collision but has since been re-opened.
