A 13-year-old boy was killed this afternoon after being knocked down by a van in Tallaght.
The incident happened at around 1.20pm on the N81 Blessington Road near The Jobstown Inn.
The boy was brought to Tallaght General Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Gardai in Tallaght are asking anyone who may have witnessed the incident or have information to contact Tallaght Garda Station on 01-6666000.

The N81 remains closed and is expected to remain closed until at least 6.00pm. Diversions are in place, and motorists are asked to avoid the area.
