Boy (10) dies as goalpost falls at soccer match

A 10-year-old boy has been killed after a goalpost fell on him during a soccer match in Co Meath.

A 10-year-old boy has been killed after a goalpost fell on him during a soccer match in Co Meath.

The boy died at approximately 2.15 p.m. after the incident in Navan, Co Meath.

He was taken to Our Lady's Hospital in the town with serious head injuries, but died a short time later. The boy is believed to be from Dundalk, Co Louth. He has not yet been named by gardaí
