LONDON - The former world champion boxer, Nigel Benn, was yesterday cleared of wounding his one-time best friend with intent to do him grievous bodily harm.

But the jury trying the ex-super-middleweight title holder at Middlesex Guildhall Crown Court retired again to try and reach a verdict on a second, lesser, alternative count alleging that Benn unlawfully wounded "Rolex Ray" Sullivan in a West End nightclub last September.
