Bomb-scare airplane lands safely in Dublin

A charter plane carrying 146 passengers has landed in Dublin after being involved in a bomb scare en route from Italy.

A charter plane carrying 146 passengers has landed in Dublin after being involved in a bomb scare en route from Italy.

The Islandsflug Boeing 737-400 jet landed in Lyon after cabin crew discovered a note on the plane that carried the words "bomb 11 September".

Passengers were questioned and baggage was searched by authorities in Lyon before the plane was allowed to continue its journey from Naples to Dublin.

Nothing suspicious was found and the aircraft landed in Dublin at 1 a.m. this morning

It is understood an Irish couple was escorted from the plane and were held overnight. The couple was not charged and is expected to return to Ireland later today.
