Ankara - Three bomb blasts, two of them at a shopping mall, injured one woman and sparked panic among shoppers yesterday, the Anatolia news agency reported.

The first explosion came at around 3.15 p.m. (1.15 p.m. Irish time) at a liquor shop inside the Carrefour shopping complex in the Kozyatagi district on the Asian side of the city.

An unidentified woman sustained minor facial injuries in the blast, the report said. Considerable damage was caused to the shop. Ten minutes later, a second explosion went off in a car park outside the mall, but no one was injured.

Later, a time bomb went off in the Avcilar district in Istanbul's European sector, causing damage to an automated cash dispenser but no injuries, Anatolia said.
