A huge bomb seized by the RUC last week belonged to the "Real IRA", the organisation responsible for the Omagh bombing, the High Court in Belfast was told yesterday.

Mr Michael McGrogan (36), of College Square North, Belfast, in whose car the explosives were allegedly found near Hillsborough, Co Down, on March 15th, was in court to apply for bail.

He is charged with possessing the bomb with intent to endanger life or damage property and allowing his car to be used for an act of terrorism.

Mr Justice Gillen refused the bail application.
