The body of a man was recovered from the Moy river outside Ballina, Co Mayo, on Thursday evening.
Gardai have named the man as Mr Frank Conlon of Childer Heights, Ballina.
Mr Conlon was in his 50s and had been missing from his home since last week.
A search party discovered the body at Carrintilla, Ballina, just before 8 p.m. on Thursday.
