Gardai in Midleton, Co Cork, have appealed for information following the discovery of the body of a man believed to be in his early 20s on rocks beneath sheer cliffs in Ballycotton yesterday afternoon.

The man was described as between 5ft 10 in and 6 ft. He had reddish hair cut short, a tattoo on his right arm of a pitbull terrier and one on his left arm of the Tricolour, bearing the legend, Eire. He was wearing a black jacket, a black T-shirt and black jeans. A black baseball cap was found close by.
