Mountain rescues in the Wicklow region reached record levels last year. Dublin-Wicklow and Glen of Imaal rescue teams were called out on more than 50 occasions. The number of incidents has doubled over the past three years.
Falling or slipping accounts for the majority of incidents. The second most common reason was missing or overdue persons.
