Talks are believed to have got underway at Anfield over the future of manager Rafael Benitez amidst rumours that he has been offered a €3.6million deal to leave the club straight away.
The Spaniard would be entitled to up to €19m if he was sacked this summer as compensation for the remaining four years of his contract.
Benitez has been mentioned as a potential replacement for Jose Mourinho at Inter Milan along with England coach Fabio Capello, while Juventus have shown an interest in the 50-year-old replacing Ciro Ferrara at the club.
Benitez is on holiday at the moment, but has stated that his future at the club depends on receiving a transfer budget that would allow him bring in some big names to the club.
