Milan Baros has set his sights on returning to action for Liverpool next month.
The Czech Republic striker broke his ankle in Liverpool's bad-tempered win at Blackburn and was initially expected to be sidelined until the new year.
But the 22-year-old has made rapid progress and has started light running at the club's Melwood training ground.
He told the club's official website: "I have started running again now so everything is progressing really well.
"I still think it will be four weeks before I'm able to kick the ball in training. But I would say I'm ahead of schedule and will be back sooner than I first thought.
"Originally I thought I wouldn't be playing until January but I'm hoping it will be around Christmas time."
