FORMER Northern Ireland minister, Mr Richard Needham, is expected to get one of the top prices when his Co Armagh barony title goes up for sale tomorrow in London.
Mr Needham, who served in Northern Ireland for seven years before becoming British Secretary of State for Trade and Industry in 1992, is expected to get about £25,000 for the title. The barony of Orhera covers approximately 32.000 acres south of Lough Neagh.
The Wiltshire North MP resigned as Trade Minister last year and is now Overseas Director for GEC.
The barony has been in the family since the 17th century when it was granted by James I.
Mr Needham is the 6th Earl of Kilmorey, but does not use the title. The family also has the title of Viscount of Newry and Mourne which is used by the eldest son.
Another Irish barony, Moyfenragh in Co Meath, being sold by William Nugent, the Earl of Westmeath, is also expected to fetch £25,000 when 32 titles are sold by Manorial Auctioneers.
