Barclaycard have renewed their title sponsorship of the English premier league after agreeing a further three-year deal worth stg£57 million pounds.
Barclaycard, the credit card business of British banking group Barclays, took over as sponsors in 2001. The new deal, worth nine million pounds more than the last one, begins at the start of next season.
The deal was approved at a meeting of the 20 premier league clubs on Friday.
Mobile phone companies Vodafone and 3 UK also announced they had won the contract to beam premier league highlights to their customers' phones, in another three-year deal from the 2004/05 season.
They will provide previews, archive footage and round-ups as well as scores and audio bulletins. Financial terms of that deal were not disclosed.
