The search for a man who fell into the sea off the Kerry coast has been held up because of adverse weather conditions.
The 25-year-old man, who is a Polish national, is believed to have stumbled while climbing on rocks to take a photograph near Ballyheigue. The alarm was raised when the man’s friends saw him fall near Kerry Head.
The coastguard said this afternoon that all units had been stood down because of poor weather and that the search would most likely resume in the morning.
He said the rescue effort had employed the services of a number of climbers to search the caves at the base of the rocks where the man is believed to have fallen.
