Mr Justice Seán Ryan, chairman of the Commission to Inquire into Child Abuse, is to receive a special award next month for his recent report on decades of systemic abuse of children in Ireland’s reformatories and industrial schools.
The presentation will be made by John Hume on August 22nd next at the annual Humbert Summer School in Ballina, Co Mayo. Mr Hume is the school’s honorary president.
