Melbourne - Australia's maritime union vowed yesterday to allow "scab" workers onto the nation's waterfront as its members came under threat of legal action.

The Maritime Union of Australia (MUA), facing a legal barrage if it tries to prevent non-union dockers from going to work, said it would allow a new union-busting stevedoring firm to bring its recruits onto a Melbourne dock.
