At least six Italian tourists died when their bus crashed on the Portuguese island of Madeira today, rescue workers said.

At least six Italian tourists died when their bus crashed on the Portuguese island of Madeira today, rescue workers said.

An official at the civil protection agency on the island said many others were injured when the bus, full of Italian tourists, crashed. The bus was carrying about 50 people.

"At least six Italian tourists died," he told reporters.
