The ASTI General Secretary, Mr Charlie Lennon, said today the union was still undecided on what action it will take if its members reject the Labour Court recommendations to end its pay dispute with the Government.

Speaking at the union’s pre-convention press briefing, Mr Lennon said if members approved the offer, ASTI would pursue its 30 per cent pay claim through the benchmarking process.

He said reaction to the Labour Court’s recommendations at meetings around the country was difficult to gauge.

The union’s 17,000 members are currently being balloted on whether to accept the Labour Court’s proposals. The procedure will be finished by April 30th with the result expected by May 6th.
