Police in Northern Ireland are appealing for witnesses following the armed robbery of a post office in Newtownabbey, Co Antrim.

Shortly after 9 a.m. two armed and masked men entered the post office. One of the men pointed his gun at the two members of staff while the other took a sum of money.

The men made off in a stolen red vauxhall nova. The car was later discovered abandoned on the Old Mill Road in the town.

Anybody with information is asked to contact Crimestoppers.
