Gardai are investigating an armed raid on a pub/restaurant early yesterday during which staff were ordered to lie on the floor by three gunmen. The men burst into the Monasterboice Inn, Drogheda, at around 1 a.m. as staff were locking up.

The raiders wore balaclavas, gloves and tracksuits, and were armed with a double-barrel shotgun, a sawn-off shotgun and a handgun. Gardai say the raiders escaped with about £2,000.
