Two men wearing motorcycle helmets entered the post office at Blackcastle Shopping Centre just before 11am.

A Garda spokesman said the raiders made off with a “four-figure sum” in Euro, and a small amount of Sterling and US Dollars.

The two men escaped on a blue motorbike, which was found abandoned on the Slane Road a short time later.
