A woman dressed as a clown has robbed a bank in the US state of Virginia.
Police said the woman walked into a Bank of America branch in Virginia Beach and handed a note demanding money to a cashier.
She fled the scene in a taxi after being given cash.
Police spokesman Don Rimer said interviews with bank employees caused them to consider her armed and dangerous. The suspect is between 5ft 5ins and 5ft 7ins tall, says CNN.
Her face was covered in white face paint and she wore a red, yellow and purple wig. She also wore a multi-coloured clown costume, white gloves, and white shoes.
Rimer said it's the first time in his 33 years that someone dressed as a clown has robbed a bank. He said police don't know if the timing of the robbery - the day before Halloween - was a factor.
Halloween and Halloween Eve are two days when dressing like a clown is less likely to draw attention. The taxi driver is not a suspect, Rimer said.
