Rome - Pope John Paul has ordered a controversial archbishop to be replaced while he recovers from deep vein thrombosis. The Most Rev John Ward, Archbishop of Cardiff, has faced calls to resign amid accusations that he ignored warnings about two paedophile priests in his archdiocese. But the Catholic Church in Wales said the new appointment was to provide assistance to the archbishop while he recovers from illness.
