IRAQ: Two US soldiers were photographed in Baghdad yesterday apparently pushing and manhandling a mentally disabled Iraqi man. The incident happened near the scene of a car-bombing.

In the picture  two soldiers are seen to be standing over the man. In the Aanother picture the man, who has Down's syndrome, is seen being led away. When asked by The Irish Times, the Reuters international desk in London, who say they in turn checked with their bureau in Baghdad, confirmed the view of the photographer, Ali Jasim, that the man was manhandled by the troops, notwithstanding his condition.

"He didn't understand them," said a Reuters employee in London.
