IARNRÓD ÉIREANN has apologised to passengers who bought first-class tickets for the Dublin to Galway train last Saturday morning, which did not have any first-class carriage.
While some of the trains on the Dublin Heuston to Galway route do have a first-class compartment, the train in question, the 9.30am from Dublin, did not.
However, due to an error on the Iarnród Éireann website, first- class tickets were available for sale online.
A spokesman for the company said the train in question had been “incorrectly classified” and that anyone who had purchased a first-class ticket would receive a refund.
