Kuala Lumpur - The Jailed former Malaysian deputy prime minister, Mr Anwar Ibrahim, was allowed to visit his mother yesterday after she suffered a fatal heart attack.

Ms Che Yan Hamid (74) was admitted to the University Medical Centre outside the capital after the heart attack on Monday night but died yesterday, a family member said. Mr Anwar, who was allowed to visit the hospital, was at his mother's bedside when she died.
