Berlin - Traces of anthrax were found in the post room of the US Embassy in Vilnius, Lithuanian health officials said yesterday, Derek Scally reports. The contamination is believed to have come from post bags containing diplomatic pouches that passed through the US State Department.
Ms Kazimiera Rutiene of the Lithuanian Public Health centre, said she was "95, maybe even 98 per cent" certain that anthrax had contaminated at least one of five suspect post bags.
