The creators of Anglo: The Musical dropped a second song from the show on the day of its first performance on Tuesday after further concerns were raised by the Director of Public Prosecutions.

The creators had written former Anglo chairman Seán FitzPatrick out of the puppet-musical and dropped a song, Putting On The Fitz, last month following contact from the DPP and Mr FitzPatrick’s solicitors.

Concerns were raised that the show could prejudice the criminal case against Mr FitzPatrick if it went ahead containing references to the former Anglo chief or to the issues in the legal proceedings.

On Monday the DPP raised concerns about the song and the producers decided to drop it, informing the cast the following day before that night’s performance at the Bord Gáis Energy Theatre in Dublin.

The cut song was to have been performed by the full cast. The show, written by Ross O’Carroll-Kelly creator Paul Howard, has received lukewarm reviews.
