Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti has admitted he would like to manage Fernando Torres but stopped short of saying he intended to bring the Liverpool striker to Stamford Bridge.

Torres' future at Anfield has been the subject of conjecture in recent weeks following Liverpool's failure to qualify for next season's Champions League.

Chelsea forward Didier Drogba fuelled rumours of a move for Torres by revealing earlier this week he would welcome the Spaniard.

Ancelotti, however, insists he has two good strikers for now, in Drogba and Nicolas Anelka.

"It's not only Drogba - I would like to play with Torres. He's a very good player," said Ancelotti.

"But this is not an issue for now. He is a Liverpool player and is a good striker but we have two fantastic strikers and this is not for this moment."

Manchester City are also thought to be weighing up a mega bid for the player.
