London - Researchers have discovered a link between the intake of alcohol and a woman's ability to conceive, according to a report in the British Medical Journal, writes Rachel Donnelly.
The study of 430 Danish couples between the ages of 20 and 35, carried out by the National University Hospital in Copenhagen, found that even women who drank less than five units of alcohol each week - equivalent to five small glasses of wine - experienced reduced levels of fertility.
Women drinking five units or less of alcohol a week were twice as likely to conceive within six months as women drinking 10 units or more.
