A checkpoint on the main approach road to Belfast International Airport is to be dismantled and a number of other roads reopened in a significant scaling down of security around the air port. The RUC said yesterday the security checkpoint and ramps on the approach road would be removed as soon as possible. Three other roads, which have been closed since the 1970s, were to be opened immediately allowing easier access to the airport.
