London - An airliner with 234 people on board narrowly avoided a catastrophic mid-air collision with a military plane over Northamptonshire, it emerged yesterday. It is believed to be one of the closest misses in Britain for more than 20 years. The jets came within 100 ft of crashing, the Sunday Telegraph reported.
The Britannia Airways Boeing 757 was en route from Birmingham to Cyprus when the near miss happened at 10,000 ft on November 22nd. The other plane was a US Air Force F15.
