Insurer AIG said on today the filing of its annual financial report for 2004 would be delayed beyond the March 31st due date, as its board and management complete an extensive review of AIG's books and records.

AIG is the subject of investigations by the office of the New York State attorney general and the Securities and Exchange Commission over accounting treatment of certain transactions.

AIG said it will be able to file its the annual report on or prior to April 30th.
