AIB today appointed Steven Meadows as its first operations director
Mr Meadows has worked with a number of companies including Ford and AT&T. From 1997 until 2003 he worked with Citigroup and most recently he was the executive director at the Moore School of Business in the University of South Carolina.
In a statement AIB said Mr Meadows will be responsilbe for operating, manufacturing and developing all AIB's main processing activities as well as all aspects of IT infrastructure and contact centres.
He also will be responsible for the design, implementation and management of AIB's overall operations and technology infrastructure.
US-born Mr Meadows will report to AIB's Group Chief Executive and will be a member of the Group Executive Committee.
He will take up his new role on Wednesday 1 June 2005.
