Three new worker-directors have been elected to the board of Aer Lingus following a ballot of the company's 6,600-strong workforce.

Outgoing worker-director Mr Aidan Dolan of the ATGWU was re-elected to the board, where he will be joined by SIPTU members Mr Willie Clarke and Ms Joan Loughnane, and Mr Frank Keoghan of the TEEU.

The four successful candidates will serve four-year terms.

Two of the four outgoing worker-directors, Mr Willie Phelan and Mr Donal O Siochan, did not contest the elections.
