The tribunal was adjourned for 20 minutes yesterday afternoon to allow George Redmond receive medical treatment. Two members of the Dublin ambulance service were called to attend to Redmond.
Judge Alan Mahon adjourned proceedings after the 79-year-old slipped off his chair as Mr Tom Gilmartin was giving evidence. He was helped back to his seat by a lawyer sitting nearby.
The former assistant Dublin city and county manager attends the tribunal on day release from Cloverhill prison, where he is serving a 12-month sentence for corruption.
When the tribunal resumed, Redmond thanked the chairman for the help given by his staff and said he was "fine". Redmond is due to cross-examine Mr Gilmartin soon.
