Adecco, the world's largest staffing company, had double-digit sales growth in July and August thanks to good demand in most of its markets and is seeing no signs of a slowdown for temporary workers.

Adecco, which competes with Dutch group Randstad and US-listed Manpower, said today sales had risen around 16 per cent organically and when adjusted for business days, in line with the level recorded in June.

"Demand remained robust across most markets with no signs of a slowdown and management continues to be confident in healthy demand progression near term," the group said in a statement ahead of an investor event in Miami from September 23rd to 24rd.

The group, which will provide the personnel for the London Olympics in 2012, said it was still committed to its mid-term EBITA (earnings before interest and tax) margin target of above 5.5 per cent, adding it would continue to focus on cost management and financial discipline.

Last month, Adecco said the global economic recovery was encouraging companies to take on temporary hires, with strong growth in its key markets France and the United States, but since then concerns have grown about the health of the world's economy.
