A heroin addict who stabbed his brother to death in 1999 has had his five-year sentence reactivated because he absconded from Coolmine Lodge drug treatment centre.

Rooney (20) from Clondalkin, was given a five-year sentence at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court in July which was suspended for 10 years on the condition he stayed out of trouble and off drugs.
