SYDNEY - Australia's disadvantaged Aborigines are concerned their long struggle for equal rights and reconciliation with "White Australia" may be in jeopardy under a newly elected conservative Liberal National government.

"Now that there's a new federal government in power, we don't want our rights as aboriginal people to be tampered with," said Mr Galarrwuy Yunupingu, chairman of the Northern Territory's powerful Northern Land Council.
