Toulouse - A French court yesterday sentenced Abbot Jean-Lucien Maurel (71) to 10 years in prison for raping and sexually abusing three boys.
The assaults dated back to 1994-1996, when the abbot was head of a school in the southern French department of Aveyron. The boys were aged between 10 and 13 at the time.
