A/wear rolled out the carpets last night for its summer fashion show held in a Dublin dockside warehouse before a 500-strong audience.
Carpets of real grass formed the catwalk bordered with rose-covered picket fences, a verdant garden-party setting for a collection decorated with prints that were bright, bold and light-hearted in spirit.
Key items were the cropped silk kimono in china doll patterns, the kaftan or smock in white broderie anglaise or daisy prints, and the maxi dress in brown cotton jersey or orange print. Where shapes were demure, colour was loud, as in a tea dress of mustard cotton and a parka in lifejacket yellow.
Though white shorts and skinny jeans featured throughout, alternatives were what was termed "utility glam" - camouflage and cargo pants teamed with steely sequinned tops or silver mini dresses.
Other sections offered Miami rollerblade clothes; playsuits in bright blue velour, white hoodies worn with blue shorts and yellow bomber jackets.
Animal motifs spread into streetwear with leopard and zebra print vests and swing coats adding a zany touch.
Prices started at€12 for a bandeau top up to €100 for a printed mac.
