Up to nine people, five of them children, are being treated in hospital this evening following an incident involving a stolen car outside a South Dublin Garda station.

It is understood the car, which was driven by two occupants, crashed into a taxi which then careered into another vehicle. The incident occurred shortly before 9 p.m. outside Crumlin Garda station on the Sundrive Road.

A Garda spokeswoman said up to four adults and five children had been injured and were taken to St James's Hospital. None are believed to be seriously injured.

The two occupants of the stolen car, who were unhurt, have been arrested and are being held at Crumlin Garda station.
